A spokesperson from Red Funnel said:

“We have experienced a mechanical issue with the starboard inner jet unit of Red Jet 7, requiring us to remove the vessel from service until repairs can be completed. Until such time that Red Jet 7 returns to service, we need to make some cancellations to scheduled crossings and operate a reduced service. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this will cause to some of our passengers, especially to our regular commuters.

“Our teams are busy adapting the timetable as well as doing all they can to get Red Jet 7 back in service as quickly as possible. We encourage customers to consider using our ferry vehicles as an alternative option, which are currently running to timetable. We will endeavour to give customers as much notice as possible about any further disruptions, so they can plan ahead, and will share a further update on Thursday afternoon.”
