New Isle Of Wight Ferry Service Route Planned For Yarmouth And Lymington

The Coral Star

Plans for a new Lymington to Yarmouth ferry have been revealed.

Tim and Michelle Anderson of Anderson Boat Cruises — the brains behind the Coral Star — have teamed up with Magnus Gundersen of Lymington based Balder Capital Ltd to order a 100+ seater catamaran.

The vessel will be built by Blyth Catamarans Ltd in Essex.

There is currently a competition running on Facebook to name the new company behind the catamaran.

The new boat is slated to be ready by Spring 2024 and run all year round earlier and later than current services.

She will be fully fitted out with bar and offer a selection of food, with comfortable inside seating and also a sun deck for nice weather.

A spokesperson for Anderson Boat Cruises said:

"We are in contact with South Western trains and with Southern Vectis to link up for commuters and students traveling to Brockenhurst College.

"We are committed to maintaining our excellent customer service and local family run, friendly reputation.

"We love the reception we have had with The Coral Star in both Lymington and on the Isle of Wight and we are looking forward to providing an alternative competitive service for people in the New Forest area and on the Island."
