Mountbatten Nurses Set To Leap For Charity

Two Mountbatten nurses are preparing to take a leap of faith in aid of charity.

Vicki Anderson and Claire Sparrow will jump from a plane - having taken off from Sandown Airport - on Thursday (11).

The pair are hoping to raise money for the Island's hospice through SkyDive 2022.

Vicki recently joined the Mountbatten team and explained why she's doing the jump:

"By taking part in challenge events sponsored skydive, I am hoping to raise funds for island families who need us the most.

"My Nanny Pat and Grandad Den were blessed to have the wonderful care, compassion and expertise of the teams at Mountbatten IOW at the end of their lives, and as a family we are truly grateful to have had the amazing support and such kindness from what can only be described as a life-changing experience.

"I am now part of that wonderful team, working on the inpatient unit, and what an amazing experience it is. Now being able to feel I can give just a little bit back to such a great team and help patients and families in similar situations to mine, really is the most amazing thing - and such a privilege!

"To now see what actually goes on behind the scenes to enable us to be able to deliver the care and support we do is phenomenal. When we say every penny counts, it really does."
