Two people have been taken to hospital after fire broke out in a flat in Newport this morning (Tuesday).
Two appliances from Newport and one from Cowes were called to Westminster Lane at 4.05am.
The fire service told Isle of Wight Radio that two adults have been taken to hospital to be treated for the effects of smoke inhalation.
Crews used four breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to tackle the blaze.
One crew remains on scene.
