Appeal Launched After 25 Year-Old Man Arrested Following Newport Collision

Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a collision in Newport.

Officers were called at 11.22am yesterday (10 April) to reports of a road traffic collision on the southbound carriageway of Medina Way.

This involved a red Honda Civic, blue BMW X5, black Kia Sorrento, and grey Nissan Qashqai. Minor injuries were reported.

The Honda Civic had been reported stolen earlier that day, between 7.30am and 11am, from the car park of Lushington Garden Centre.

A 25-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and drink driving. He remains in custody.

We would like to speak to any witnesses of this collision, and anyone with relevant dash cam footage.

We would particularly like to speak to anyone who saw any of the vehicles travelling on Fairlee Road, Coppins Bridge or Medina Way prior to the collision.
