Last year, Adi, who had treatment for a brain tumour that left her with disabilities, sent in a picture of her on a horse when she was three, which won her a riding holiday on the Isle of Wight.

The photo was taken when Adi was receiving treatment at a cancer retreat and had met horses for the first time.

The competition was launched last year by Island Riding Centre and Disability Review Magazine.

In August, competition winners Emma and her daughter enjoyed an adventurous stay exploring the Island and at the Island Riding Centre.

During her stay at Island Riding Centre, she cantered for the first time, her Mother Emma Bara said:

“It was wonderful to see. The tumour and its treatment left Adi deaf in both ears, blind in one eye and with depth perception and coordination issues, so to canter is quite a scary thing to do. It was a really emotional moment for her and I am so proud of what she’s achieved”.

Adi said:  “I feel really happy and safe and calm, it feels like it’s what I should be doing”.

You can watch a video of Adi here.
