Wightlink's St Clare ferry has been withdrawn from service on the Portsmouth-Fishbourne route because of a technical problem involving two engines.
This morning (Friday), the 06:00 and 08:00 sailings from Portsmouth and 07:00 and 09:00 from Fishbourne will also be cancelled; customers have been informed. St Faith is operating a shuttle service overnight.
A spokesperson for Wightlink said:
"We apologise for disrupting travel plans for our customers.
"Engineers are working to fix the problem, and we hope to bring St Clare back as soon as we can.
"We advise customers to cancel or amend their bookings online, full refunds will be given free-of-charge."
Customers who need to return to the Island this evening can use Wightlink's FastCat foot passenger service free of charge and leave their vehicles in Wightlink's Gunwharf Road car park.
Last night's (Thursday's) 20:00 sailing from Portsmouth and 21:00 from Fishbourne were cancelled.
