What Do You Think Of The Floating Bridge? Council To Survey Users

Floating Bridge users are being asked what they make of the service, as part of the council's effort to improve 'customer experience' on the vessel.

Saver Card holders are invited to take part in a survey over the next eight weeks.

Councillor Phil Jordan, Cabinet member for transport and infrastructure, said:

“We value the opinion of residents who use the floating bridge and we are currently looking to obtain the views of people who use the service on a regular basis, therefore we are undertaking a survey of Saver Card holders.

"These regular travellers have continued to use the service over the past 12 months despite the difficult circumstances that have faced the nation as we recover from COVID restrictions.

“The survey will allow us to better understand their use of the floating bridge and their perceptions of the service provided.  We also very much welcome their thoughts on how the service can be improved.

“We will use the information obtained through the consultation to gauge the current impression of the service and will evaluate all suggestions to improve the service implementing these wherever practically possible”.

The survey will be emailed to more than 5,000 Saver Card holders.

The consultation will end on September 19.

As Isle of Wight Radio previously reported, legal talks over the troublesome vessel are potentially drawing to a close.

The local authority is said to be 'very close' to agreeing a resolution with the boat's builders and designers.
