Double-GRAMMY winners Wet Leg might need to expand their award cabinet again after this weekend.

The band, fronted by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, secured the Best Alternative Album and Best Alternative Music Performance gongs at a ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday evening.

They'll head to the BRIT Awards this Saturday (February 11) in the running for FOUR gongs: Group of the Year, Best New Artist, Mastercard Album of the Year and Best Rock/Alternative Act.

The latter will be decided by a public vote, scroll down for a link to the page...

Wet Leg — whose eponymous debut album went to number one in UK Album chart last April — will perform live at the event, held at London's O2 Arena.

They are the first Island band to be nominated for a BRIT since Level 42 were in the mix for Best British Group in 1988 (Pet Shop Boys won the award).

On collecting their GRAMMY awards, Rhian remarked:

“This is so funny. What are we doing here?

"This year has been so surprising, starting this band has been such a surprise and being on the road."

Later this year, Wet Leg will play Coachella and Reading & Leeds Festivals and are the special guests of Pulp at their comeback gig in London’s Finsbury Park.

Having kicked off their extensive tour support for Harry Styles in North America last week, they will now head to Australia and New Zealand with Styles, additionally playing their first ever shows in Japan and Mexico.
