The road has been closed by Lynnbottom waste and recycling centre, near Downend this evening (Wednesday).
Isle of Wight Radio listeners said a car has become stuck in a flooded section of the road.
The road is said to be closed from the Robin Hill roundabout towards Briddlesford Road.
Emergency crews are on scene.
