Prey Rise For Haven Falconry As High Flyers Added To Cast

A trio of new birds of prey are joining the cast at Havenstreet's Haven Falconry this month.

White-bellied Sea Eagle 'Daenerys' is joined by fellow new additions — white-backed female vulture 'Blood' and an as yet unnamed female bald eagle.

The introduction of the new birds will go towards expanding the range of birds used in educational flying demonstrations and birds of prey experience days.

More crucially, it will extend the centre's work in breeding for conservation.

Charlotte Gladdis from Haven falconry said:

"Following the arrival of Dylan, our White-Tailed Sea Eagle a few months ago, we are pleased to announce the arrival of three more exciting species.

"Brought to us by our friends in Scotland, Elite Falconry, we would like you all to meet Daenerys, who we already have flying in the training arena, and our other new (additions)."

Haven Falconry, which is based at Haven Street's Isle of Wight Steam Railway site, has been in the ownership of Charlotte and business partner Sam White for two years.

It is open for public visitors through summer and for birds of prey experience days all year round.
