Poignant Isle Of Wight Postbox Toppers Mark Remembrance Day

Knitted postbox toppers are appearing around the Isle of Wight, in a poignant tribute to mark Remembrance Day.

Several of the creations have popped up in various places across the Island.

The commemorations can be seen on postboxes in Carisbrooke, Cowes, Newport and Gurnard.

Some, but not all of the poignant tributes have been created by Islander Christine Cronin.

Many include the traditional red poppies which mark the lives lost in conflicts, while others have knitted heads as a representation of soldiers who have served in the armed forces.

Have you spotted one or know who has made the other creations? Let us know by emailing news@iwradio.co.uk.
