Newport Day Nursery Chain Takes Part In First Ever World Daily Mile Day

Newport's Tops Day Nurseries participated in the first-ever World Daily Mile Day yesterday (Thursday), by encouraging children to walk, run and jog for 15 minutes.

The Daily Mile is a simple initiative that encourages children to be active every day by walking, jogging, or running a mile.

By participating in World Daily Mile Day, the nursery aimed to raise awareness about the importance of physical activity in children's lives and encourage them to be more active every day.

Diane Wycherley, Tops Operations Director, said:

"Our goal at Tops Day Nurseries is to provide a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive, and that includes promoting healthy habits like regular physical activity.

"The Daily Mile is a fantastic initiative that helps children build good habits from a young age, and we're proud to be a part of it."

The nursery encouraged children and staff to participate in the World Daily Mile Day by walking, jogging, or running for 15 minutes.

They also organised fun activities to make the experience more enjoyable for the children, like an obstacle course.

Tops Day Nurseries provides eco-sustainable early education and care for children aged 3 months to school age.

Tops Newport is based onsite at the Isle of Wight college.
