A man from Newchurch has been given a three year driving ban.
Raymond Jennings, of Alverstone Road, was arrested for drink-driving after being pulled over on Watery Lane last month.
The 56-year-old also failed to provide a specimen on Sunday, October 2
It's one of the first convictions secured by the Island's dedicated Roads Unit Policing Team since it was reintroduced earlier this year.
Police say when he was brought back to the police station, he was asked to provide a specimen of blood or urine but refused, giving no reason as to why.
Jennings was subsequently charged with failing to provide a specimen and admitted this offence on October 18.
In addition to the driving ban handed to him on Friday, he was also given a 12 month community order and is required to complete 100 hours of unpaid work.
Jennings was also ordered to pay a £114 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and must complete 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
