
A man in his 40s has been killed following a crash at Cranmore, near Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight.
Emergency services were called to Ningwood Hill shortly before 1.30am this morning (Saturday).
A Renault Trafic van has left the carriageway.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, a man is confirmed to have died.
Anyone with information about the crash is urged to contact police on 101.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson told Isle of Wight Radio:
“We were called at 1.22am this morning (July 23) to the A3054, Ningwood Hill, following a report of a single-vehicle collision involving a van.
“The driver of the van, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing and police would like to appeal to anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact us on 101 or report online, quoting 44220295763.”
