More than 40 new jobs are available at the Isle of Wight NHS Trust in preparation for the opening of the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC).
These new recruits will work in the brand new facility which will significantly expand and improve islander’s access to high quality diagnostic care.
This investment into the NHS workforce will support the delivery of Cardiac Physiology, Respiratory Physiology and Sleep Studies, osteoporosis scanning, investigative procedures, and radiology services.
Newly created roles include Trainee Sonographers and Cardiac Physiologist Associates, as well as clerical and administrative posts.
The Trust is welcoming applications from a wide range of candidates and for a number of roles, no previous healthcare experience is needed because full training and support will be provided.
The new recruits will play a pivotal role in the launch and running of the CDC which will provide the right tests, in the right place, at the right time for the island community.
Kelly Pearce, Principal Cardiac Physiologist said:
“The CDC has given us the opportunity to expand our services to continue delivering excellent patient-centred care to the community as well as our acute services.
“Our focus in Cardiac Investigations is to grow our own workforce to ensure it is sustainable for the future.
“The CDC has allowed us to create new ways of working in order for our service to be more efficient and to employ five new apprentices with a dedicated learning pathway in cardiology.”

The Trust has also been given access to Health Education England funding, apprenticeships and in-service development to support the new roles.
