Isle Of Wight MP Keen To Support Bid From Wellbeing Organisation

MP Bob Seely has thrown his support behind a funding bid from community interest company, the Isorropia Foundation.

If successful, it will help the organisation secure a permanent home for its services.

The Isorropia team currently operates out of the Medina Valley Centre off Dodnor Lane in Newport delivering workshop-based programmes to help people with practical strategies for managing stress, building resilience, and cultivating a positive mindset.

Now, in its fourth year, Isorropia Foundation is looking to purchase and refurbish the 3.5-acre Medina Valley site with support from the government’s Community Ownership Fund.

The fund is designed to support community groups to take ownership of assets and amenities at risk of being lost and run them for the benefit of the local community.

Bob Seely said:

“I was pleased to meet the Isorropia team at the Medina Valley site and hear more about the work they are doing to support Islanders with practical solutions to help bring about positive change in their lives.

“I was only too happy to support the team with their bid which will both enable them to continue their good work and preserve a valuable community asset for use by the community.

“I have written to Levelling Up Minister, Jacob Young, in support of the bid and I have also invited him down to the Island to hear more about Isorropia’s pioneering work and future plans.”

Charlie Bell, CEO Isorropia Foundation said: “We have ambitious plans to save this wonderful riverside site to support as many Islanders as possible and make this a centre of excellence for mental health and wellbeing.”
