Businesses on the Isle of Wight are set to welcome the opening of 'Building 41' in Northwood next week.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the new facility, ask questions and learn how the project could benefit their business or organisation.
Developed by the Isle of Wight Council and the European Regional Development Fund, the facility promises to become a hub of local business activity, while offering flexible office suites, co-working areas and event spaces for hire.
Julie Jones-Evans, Cabinet member for Levelling Up, Business Development and Regeneration, said:
“Building 41 has been created by a cohort of Island businesses, for the benefit of Island businesses.
"We will offer flexible and affordable working conditions, encouraging collaboration between members.
"A range of experienced advisors will be on hand to support our members with workshops and coaching. Events and community initiatives will drive the space forward.
"I truly believe Building 41 will have a huge positive impact on many Islanders.”
The council has already piloted a Business Boost course in Building 41, organised by Portsmouth University, with many Island businesses benefiting.
Since completion in 2022, the project’s team organised several tours of Building 41 and received very encouraging feedback.
Samuel Tinson-Wood, of Thump Studio, said:
“This is a fantastic space for those days when we need an office, when we’re having group meetings to present work, or maybe we just need some human interaction! Whatever the reason, this space is the way for modern working.”
For Hillbans Pest Control, the move means:
“We can manage our expansion flexibly. As the team grows, Building 41 will offer our company new office suites, co-working and meeting areas. This is the place to be for innovating businesses.”
NOSY Creative Agency decided to move to Building 41 because:
“The new office space matches our ethos of being planet conscious. With biophilic design at its core, this move will significantly lower our CO2 emissions.”
In fact, the uptake for office suites has been very high already, with only a few still available to lease.
