Homes in Ventnor, Chale, Godshill and Wroxall and surrounding areas have been hit by a power cut this morning (Tuesday).
In total, 72 postcodes in the PO38 area are affected.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Network says it hopes to have power restored by 11am.
Meanwhile, four postcodes in Seaview are also being affected by a power cut.
