Have Your Say On Isle Of Wight Dementia Care And Support

The Isle of Wight Council has launched a new survey today (Wednesday) for Islanders to have their say on dementia care and support.

Isle of Wight health and social care system leaders launched the Isle of Wight Dementia Strategy in May 2022 in an attempt to improve dementia services.

A spokesperson for the IW Council said:

"The council is now starting work to refresh the Dementia Strategy, looking at what has already been achieved and where our continued efforts are needed to continue to drive improvements in dementia care and support for local people.

"To do this we need your help. We need you to tell us about your experience of dementia services to understand what has worked well and what can be done better.

"We believe that your views and experiences are crucial in shaping a strategy that truly meets the needs of those affected by a dementia."

Please help us by completing our online questionnaire.

Paper copies of the survey will soon be available in local libraries, through Age UK IW, Alzheimer Café IW, Carers IW or can be collected from County Hall in Newport.

If you need help completing the questionnaire you can also visit the Dementia Cafe at Parklands in Cowes where help is available.

In addition to the questionnaire, the Council will be hosting four in-person events across the Island to facilitate open discussions and gather direct feedback.

Event Details:

  • 22 January, 10am to 1pm, The Broadway Centre, Sandown.
  • 30 January, 1pm to 4pm, The Riverside Centre, Newport.
