Free Programme Launched To Aid Island Businesses

A new, free programme helping Island businesses to develop opportunities in exporting, innovation and collaboration, has been launched.

The Isle of Wight Growth Catalyst is a fully-funded initiative from Innovation Wight, providing tailored support for local companies.

Each pathway - Innovation, New Markets and Exports, and Working with Universities - are delivered by industry experts and offer hands-on workshops with personalised mentoring and guidance.

“This is a really exciting opportunity for businesses to get fully-funded access to valuable tools, resources, advice and support,” said Gavin McWhirter, of Digital Islands, one of three programme leads, alongside Colm Watling and Liz Flint.

“Exporting, innovation and collaboration with universities are all areas that can bring great benefits to our businesses on the Island.

“This free package of support aims to maximise those opportunities and we really hope our business community on the Island get involved.”

The programme for each pathway consists of two phases - starting with workshops, followed by eight hours of guidance from the relevant expert.

The Innovation Pathway is aimed at companies keen to develop new ways to meet market demand.

Businesses seeking to expand by exporting can apply to the New Markets and Exports Pathway, while the Working with Universities programme is open to companies who want to build relationships to gain access to new ideas and the best talent.

Free places are limited, so early applications are encouraged.
