A fallen power cable has shut Blackwater Road this evening (Thursday).
Isle of Wight Radio listeners say the road has been closed by police.
The cable is said to be blocking the road, near Moles Superstore at Blackwater Junction.
Drivers are urged to find an alternative route while the carriageway is cleared.
