Dover Park Primary School Celebrates Continued Success With Glowing Ofsted Report

Following an Ofsted inspection in March, Dover Park Primary School is delighted to have received an extremely positive report.

The education watchdog has confirmed that Dover Park Primary School is still a good school, with a glowing report highlighting the school's many strengths.

Ofsted inspectors praised the school for its happy and friendly atmosphere, where pupils feel safe and behave exceptionally well.

They commented that pupils are proud to be part of their kind and friendly school.

The inspector noted that pupils at Dover Park live up to the school's high expectations interns of both their learning and behaviour.

In lessons, pupils are described as working hard, achieving well, and participating with enthusiasm.

Inspectors also highlighted the thoughtful and caring relationships between pupils and the way in which the school provides opportunities to bring
children’s learning to life and to build on their aspirations.

One particular highlight of the report was the unity among the school community in their aspirations for the school.

Ofsted noted, Governors, leaders and staff are united in their ambitious vision for the school.

Pupils achieve well yet there is no sense of complacency.

There is a school-wide determination to build on every success and achievement.

Headteacher, Jon Kirby, expressed his gratitude to each and every member of staff and volunteers at Dover Park, who work tirelessly to engage, inspire, and support all children in our school.

He proudly explained:

“We have an incredibly driven staff, who go above and beyond to create an inclusive school with rich and engaging opportunities for the children in their care.

"We are elated that Ofsted have validated the positive impact our staff’s unwavering dedication is having upon the children at Dover Park and it is a welcome affirmation of the school's ongoing commitment to excellence.”

Mr Kirby expressed his pride in the children of Dover Park and explained how they amaze him every day with their enthusiasm, resilience and determination to succeed.

He also expressed his thanks to the wider school community and parents for their ongoing commitment to the school.

The headteacher explained:

“The whole school community works together as a team and we strive to provide the children of Dover Park with the best possible opportunities for success.”

The school were delighted to see Ofsted note parents’ view of the school, which they stated to be ‘overwhelmingly positive about many aspects of the school’.

Dover Park were also elated that Ofsted recognised the way in which they support children with special educational needs.

They stated:

“There is genuine sense of inclusion, meaning that all pupils access the full curriculum, with appropriate adaptation and achieve well.”

The staff at Dover Park Primary School are committed to continuing their efforts to further improve and enhance the educational experience for children on the Isle of Wight.

With this recent confirmation from Ofsted, the school looks forward to building on their successes and strive for even greater achievements in the future.
