Detectives Investigating Ryde Death Given More Time To Question Three In Custody

Two men and a woman are currently in police custody after the death of a 30 year old man.

A murder investigation was launched on Sunday (28 May) after police were called at 3.17am to an incident in Park Road, Ryde.

Officers and paramedics attended, but a man was pronounced dead while en-route to hospital.

His family have been informed and are being supported by officers.

An investigation into the exact circumstances is underway.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police say from our enquiries so far, they believe this was an isolated incident.

A 27-year-old man from Sandown, 27-year-old man from Ryde and 24-year-old woman from Shanklin have each been arrested on suspicion of murder. They remain in custody today following a warrant of further detention being granted by the court. This allows the investigation team up to a further 32 hours to continue their enquiries whilst the suspects remain detained.

Officers say as the investigation progresses, they would like to hear from anyone we have not yet spoken to who has information that may assist our enquiries, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem.

The incident took place in the early hours of the morning, but they are hoping that someone who lives nearby may have seen or heard something that could be related or has CCTV or Ring Doorbell footage and have not yet spoken to officers.

DCI Douglas, who is overseeing the investigation today, said:

"Our thoughts remain with the man's family today as we continue working hard to understand the exact circumstances of what has taken place.

"You will continue to see officers in and around the area today and into tomorrow, as we conduct our enquiries.

"If you have any concerns or anything which may assist our investigation, then please do not hesitate to speak with them."
