Cowes RNLI Lifeboat and Coastguard Rescue Teams were called out to reports of a kayaker 'waving for help' this afternoon (Monday).
Coastguard Rescue Teams from the Needles and Bembridge were called to the scene earlier today (1.19pm).
Cowes RNLI says the kayaker was 'in distress off Cowes'.
According to the RNLI the launch was cancelled because the kayaker was picked up by a passing vessel.
