A suspected ordnance discovered in a garden in Ryde today (Thursday) has been safely disposed of on a nearby beach.
A specialist bomb disposal team from the Royal Navy attended the scene at Puckpool Hill earlier this afternoon.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said:
"We assisted the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit, which attended the address and removed the ordnance.
"It was disposed of safely at a beach nearby."
