Emergency services, including the Coastguard Helicopter, have been called to assist an injured man on the outskirts of Godshill today (Thursday).

Ventnor Coastguard Rescue provided care for the man and helped prepare a landing site for the helicopter — which came from Lee-on-Solent — near the Worsley Obelisk at Stenbury Down.

A spokesperson for HM Coastguard confirmed:

"The first call came in just before 11.50am.

"The man was later passed into the care of the ambulance service."

We have contacted the ambulance service for further information.
