
A bungalow has been destroyed by fire in Lake.
Firefighters were alerted to the blaze in Westlake Avenue shortly after 4am.
Four appliances - from Shanklin, Sandown and Ryde, and the incident command unit - attended.
The building has been very badly damaged, with most of the roof space completely destroyed.
Police have also been on scene.
There are no reports of any injuries.
A police spokesperson said:
“We were called at 0415 this morning to Westlake Avenue, Sandown following reports of a fire.
“No-one was inside the house at the time of the fire. The house was destroyed and thankfully no other properties were damaged.
“We are currently treating the fire as suspicious and officers are conducting enquires along with the fire service.
“A scene is currently in place and will remain for some time. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
