Air Ambulance Called To Assist Injured Child

The Air Ambulance from Dorset and Somerset has landed in Shanklin this evening (Saturday).

Isle of Wight Radio has been told that the air ambulance was requested, after a child was injured.

The helicopter landed near to Shanklin and Godshill Cricket Club around 9.30pm, before taking off just after 10.30pm.

It’s understood the youngster is being flown to a hospital on the mainland for treatment.

*Isle of Wight Radio has been told that a young boy came off his scooter at speed, and collided with a wall.

The child has suffered a head injury and is undergoing tests at hospital in Southampton.
