Teenager Arrested In Connection With East Cowes Assault

A teenager has been arrested in connection with an assault in East Cowes in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).

 As first reported by Isle of Wight Radio,  police were called to the Esplanade at 3am to reports of an assault on a man at 3am.

The victim was taken to St Mary's Hospital with a jaw injury, according to police.

A 17 year old boy and 43 year old man - both from the Isle of Wight - have been arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.

Part of the woodland near the Esplanade is cordoned off with police tape.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:

'A 17-year-old boy and 43-year-old man, both from the Isle of Wight, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.'
