Strawberry Jam Charity Event For Isle Of Wight Youth Trust

Members of Strawberry Jam

Strings Bar & Venue in Newport will host a fundraising event this Saturday (March 18) in aid of the Isle of Wight Youth Trust.

Strawberry Jam aims to give people young people aged 16 and above a chance to experience live music in a safe and managed environment.

The event will showcase a talented selection of Island musicians, including Kindred Found, Dead Revival and Tink Beadle, amongst others, in an evening of more than six hours of live music.

Michelle Moorman, Fundraising and Communications Manager at the Isle of Wight Youth Trust, said:

“The Isle of Wight Youth Trust provides free counselling and wellbeing support to young Islanders aged 5-25 and their families.

"After the most challenging of times for us all, the demand for our services is unprecedented, we are currently receiving an average of 34 referrals for support each week – compared to 17 per week in 2022.

“Strawberry Jam is set to be a fantastic evening of live music which will not only help raise awareness of the work of the Youth Trust, but also vital funds.”

Event organiser Megan Brimson of Strawberry Jam said:

“I've always wanted to organise a charity event, and this has gone better than I could have hoped! I have amazing friends that have been willing to jump in and help, and being on the Island music scene myself has definitely helped!

“The bands involved have been a massive help in promoting the night on their socials, and many companies have also been kind enough to donate raffle prizes too.

"I want to say a massive thank you to all of them! Hopefully, we can raise a good amount for a worthwhile cause.”

Tickets are £8 and available online or on the door.

All proceeds will go directly to the Isle of Wight Youth Trust.
