Works to turn St Mary's Roundabout into the new St Mary's Junction are now 'complete', Isle of Wight Radio understands.
The major improvement works in Newport started in September 2019, and have seen the removal of the original roundabout and a huge restructure to several surrounding roads to form the new junction and the introduction of new traffic signals.
All signs of construction works have now disappeared, and temporary traffic signals have been removed.
The project, which has been completed ahead of the expected date later this month, has seen construction workers working throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
Isle of Wight bus provider Southern Vectis tweeted the this morning, advising passengers that it's Route 1 service to and from Cowes is now operating as normal and that the works have been finished.
Highways officials are expected to complete the formalities this week.
