Record Beaten And Funds Raised In Charity Swim Across Solent

A charity swim across The Solent has broken a record — while raising funds for an environmental charity.

Ten swimmers took off from Hurst Castle, Lymington on July 9 and swam towards The Hut, in Colwell Bay in aid of Surfers Against Sewage.

The fastest swimmer, 18-year-old Mia Marks, achieved a time of 31 minutes which organisers believe beats the course record of 34 minutes set by another charity swim.

Mia is part of the Australian national swimming team.
