Several incidents have been reported near the Marks Corner entrance to Parkhurst Forest.

Carisbrooke Vets says it has a "number of patients undergoing treatment". A Facebook post reads:

"Dog owners please be aware that there has been another incident of poison being put down up at Marks Corner today and we have had a number of patients under treatment.

"The police have been made aware of the situation.

"We dislike giving attention to the type of individual who would do such a thing but please take care if walking in the area."

Posting on Facebook, Islander Karen Sowerby said she found at least two piles of what looks like slug pellets.

It's not the first incident of poisoning at Marks Corner. A police investigation dating back to a year ago was filed last year.
