A man who scaled the Sevenacres building of St Mary's Hospital will appear in court today (Friday), charged with a number of offences.
Emergency services were called to an incident at the hospital last Friday (2).
Mark Anthony Booth-Pain, 41, of Heath Close, Newport is charged with causing more than £5,000 of damage to the roof of Sevenacres, belonging to NHS Property Services Ltd.
He is also charged with causing damage to a number of vehicles - including a Land Rover Freelander, Citroen C3, an Audi and a Suzuki Swift, along with two police vehicles - a BMW 2-Series and a Ford Focus.
He is also charged with affray — using or threatening unlawful violence towards other persons and causing them to fear for their personal safety.
Booth-Pain will appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court today.
