Man Arrested On Suspected Drug Offences After Trying To Hide From Police

A male has been arrested on suspicion of drug offences after trying to hide from police in Newport.

Officers said they were driving along Quay Street when attention was drawn to a male acting suspiciously - trying to hide in a corner.

A 36 year old man from Newport was arrested under Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act. As a result of the search, police seized a quantity of what is believed to Class A and Class B drugs.

The male remains in custody on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
