Isle Of Wight: Dead Mouse Found In Sainsbury's Salad

Sainsbury's says it is 'investigating' after a dead mouse was found in a pack of salad, purchased at an Isle of Wight store.

The supermarket giant has apologised and offered a 'gesture of goodwill' to the affected customer.

The pack of 'Italian Style Salad' was bought at the chain's Newport branch by Islander Christine Egerton.

She said the discovery made her and her family physically sick:

"If this isn't a good advert for grow your own veg I don't know what is.

"Will NEVER be getting this EVER again it blooming wreaked as to say we are not eating tonight all food thrown away we all puked up.

"I bought it a few days ago in Newport, Isle of Wight."

A spokesperson for Sainbury's said:

“We are in touch with the customer and are investigating the issue.

"We have apologised for her experience and offered a gesture of goodwill.”
