The Floating Bridge will be out of action for 11 days later this month (March).
The service will be suspended from Monday, March 20 until Friday, March 31.
The Isle of Wight Council said it is to enable the Maritime and Coastguard Agency to carry out its annual inspection.
The replacement launch for foot passengers and cyclists will be operating.
The floating bridge will undergo its annual inspection by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and will be out of action from Monday 20 March until Friday 31 March.
