Extra Money Is Available To Help Islanders In Crisis

Money is available to support Islanders in crisis.

The Island's MP Bob Seely said the money – which can be accessed through Citizens Advice Isle of Wight – can be used to assist Island residents who are in genuine hardship, enabling them to quickly access help in an emergency.

The Citizens Advice team - in partnership with the Footprint Trust - can also arrange for heating appliances to be fixed or offer temporary replacement to keep families warm.

Paul Savill, Chief Officer of Citizens Advice Isle of Wight, said:

“Not only can we support people who are facing financial hardship in the short term, we can also help them to avoid falling into crisis in the future so I would urge people to get in touch if they need advice or assistance.”

Mr Seely said:

“The Government has made this money available for those who genuinely need it and I want to make sure Islanders know that there is help out there, they just need to ask.”
