The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been called to Chale this afternoon (Thursday) after a crash left a motorcyclist needing medical attention.

A car and bike collided on Newnham Lane shortly after 4pm, with the biker suffering a leg injury and being flown to Southampton General Hospital as a result.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said:

"We were called just before 4.10pm today to a road traffic collision on Newman Lane in Chale.

"The collision involved a motorbike and a car. The motorcyclist sustained a leg injury."

The road remains closed at this time.
