Dig Out Your Dancing Shoes! DECADeANCE Returns For 2021

It's time to dig out your dancing shoes because DECADeANCE is back for 2021.

Covid saw the party cancelled last year but it will return to Cowes Yacht Haven a week today (Saturday).

The event, which was formed in 2009, is raising money for Mountbatten.

This year will be slightly different to past years, with partygoers given their own table in a covid-secure manner.

Speaking to Isle of Wight Radio, founder Tony Martin said:

"Everyone has their own table, their own place at a table. Drinks to every single guests are being served all night, so no queuing at bars.

"I'm making sure people still enjoy the music which is what it's all about."

Tony says since its formation in 2019, the event has grown in popularity with around 850 people attending the last party.

This year there are only 366 places available - one for every day of the year missed by coronavirus.

DECADeANCE started as a 'decade dance' to celebrate the best of the decades of music. It then developed to encourage people to 'dress to impress' and be decadent. Decadent and dance then merged together to form the name of annual event.

Tickets for the event can be booked by emailing decadeancenight@gmail.com, and cost £35 per person.

All profits go to Mountbatten.
