Cowes' Corries Cabin Unveils New, Battered Christmas Snack

Corries Cabin

A popular chip shop on the Isle of Wight is putting something rather unusual in its deep fat fryer this Christmas.

Corries Cabin in Cowes is taking it to the next level this festive season by introducing battered mince pies to the menu.

Islanders will also be pleased to know that the famous battered sprouts will be making a return - which now have their very own following, according to the chippy.

It is not the first time Corries Cabin has fried up something surprising, earlier this year, it made its very own ‘Seely sausage’.

Manager, Derrel Mooney said:

“It's been a really tough year for everyone, so we are happy to add a little bit of seasonal joy with the return our Christmas menu. The usual favourites are there, but the newbie this year is the battered mince pie. It’s surprisingly good”.

All profits from the mince pies will go to the Isle of Wight Foodbank.

The chip shop has continued to match its donations - despite the restaurant being forced to close because of the pandemic.
