Coronavirus: More Isle Of Wight Cases - But Rolling Rate Continues To Fall

Another 66 cases of coronavirus have been recorded on the Isle of Wight.

However, data shows the Island's rolling coronavirus rate is continuing to fall.

Today's daily total (66) is down compared to yesterday's (98).

Of the 5,391 cases recorded on the Island since the start of the pandemic, 3,712 have come this month (January).

According to the latest figures, the Island has once again dropped down the Government's rolling list of the worst affected areas.

The rolling rate is used to spot trends or patterns in the data. The Island had the UK's fourth highest average rate just days ago - it now has the 23rd highest.

The Island's seven-day average, per 100,000, is 778.7.

Earlier, Isle of Wight Radio revealed that another three people have died at on the Island having tested positive for COVID-19.

Two deaths were registered in care homes and one at St Mary's Hospital.

In total, there have now been 143 coronavirus-related fatalities here since the start of the pandemic.
