Coronavirus: Isle Of Wight Care Home Deaths Rise

Another three people have died on the Isle of Wight after contracting COVID-19.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has published its weekly data this morning (Thursday).

In the week of March 26, two people died in care homes here. Meanwhile, one person passed away at the hospice.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been a total of 133 deaths in the community on the Island.

118 of those have come in care homes and 10 at home.

Overall, there has been two COVID-19 related death at the Island's hospice, one in a 'other communal setting' and two 'elsewhere' in the community.

In total, 284 people have now died on the Isle of Wight after testing positive for the illness. St Mary's Hospital has recorded 151 of those deaths.
