Coastguard helicopter and rescue teams were called to Newport for two separate early hours medical incidents over the weekend.
Saturday (March 25) saw the Coastguard Helicopter from Lee-on-the-Solent assist the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service with a medical transfer.
At around 6.15am the helicopter airlifted a casualty from St Mary’s Hospital to Horsea Island, for an onward transfer to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, by land ambulance.
The Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team and South Central Ambulance Service also attended.
The Coastguard helicopter from Lee-on-the-Solent was back on call the following morning, assisting the IW Ambulance Service with a medical transfer at around 3.50am.

A casualty was transferred to the Lee-on-the-Solent search and rescue base and into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.
