Brighstone Village Store Staff 'Threatened With Knife' During Robbery

Staff at a shop in Brighstone were threatened with a knife during a robbery last week, police say.

A 38-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of robbery, has been released on conditional bail.

Police are now appealing for witnesses who were in the area at the time.

As Isle of Wight Radio first reported, a set of scales were stolen at Brighstone Village Stores on Thursday (8).

Hampshire Constabulary says no one was injured and the scales were recovered.

Officers say they would like to speak to a man, who was seen in the area, in connection with the incident.

A spokesperson said:

"He is described as white, around 6foot tall and was wearing a grey chequered blanket.

"We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard anything, particularly the man described, around the time of the offence or leaving the area."

Enquiries are ongoing, according to police.

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting Crime Reference Number 44210131901.
